A season of oddly contradictory styles awaits the 20-something woman who seeks to be in vogue this winter. Chic but sexy and very feminine dresses and suits that show off the waist and legs will be worn alongside clothing that exhibits the military look that has influenced the current trends in menswear. Loads of tweed and macho jackets and coats will layer over classy dresses and tops. This season’s colors range from a military-looking khaki and green to the dazzling shades of gemstones. Black and white adds a classic touch while camel is the color for coats this fall. The midriff grabs the headlines as dresses and tops in lace and fur cling to the waistline before flaring out around the legs. Pleats have been added to skirts to create an expansive look. While the capacious, billowing skirt will be very popular this season, narrow pencil skirts also make a good showing, especially in tweed. Twenty-something women will look great in A-line dresses and the short and knee-length skirts of this season. Denim will again be a favorite as it can be dressed up or down this season. Dark denim, a smart double-breasted tweed jacket with bold buttons, and very furry boots will be the look for the office this season. Casual wear in pale blue denim will be exciting, and nothing more so that the denim shorts over tights with a pair of boots. Ugg boots and any other flat or wedge boots, long or short, with lots of fur either inside or outside, or both, will be in vogue. Both men and women will look good in tweeds this winter. Structured tweed suits have a double-breasted jacket accompanied by a narrow knee-length skirt. Look for bold buttons on the jacket. Leather gloves, especially those without fingers, look really chic with a tweed ensemble. Another fashion item borrowed from the men’s collection is the oversized bomber jacket in a khaki fabric or in black leather. Fur linings, ribbed waists and collars and lots of pockets complete the look. Trousers are leather, belted tightly at the waistline and either tapered to the legs or flare out in bell-bottoms. Zips are prominently displayed on trousers. The fabrics, colors and trimmings that a designer chooses adds his signature to a particular collection. Designers found multiple ways to trim and edge items with fur of all shapes, sizes and color, add outsized buttons, ostentatious zippers and use corded edging on their garments this season. Winter will shimmer with color of gemstones that have been attached to garments and belts will bring style and color to the cinched waists. Designers have acknowledged the coming cold weather by turning to lots of pure wool sweaters in brilliant shades of blue, turquoise and emerald green. Trendsetters will welcome thick knits, long scarves and camel coats teamed with denim and bright accessories. Tote bags in opulent fabrics and patent leather will add the final touch for twenty-something women this season. Learn more – Superdry Bodywarmer
